Referenz-Einspielungen von Tschaikowskys drei großen Balletten stammen von dem Maestro André Prévin, dessen Aufnahmen nun in einer umfangreichen Box erscheinen – mit CD-Hüllen im originalen Album-Artwork. Die drei berühmten großen Ballette von Peter Tschaikowsky nahm André Previn in seiner Funktion als Chef des London Symphony Orchestra auf: Dornröschen, Der Nussknacker und Schwanensee. Previn, der sich selbst als „Romantiker durch und durch“ bezeichnete, sorgte hier für einen Meilenstein seiner und der Tschaikowsky-Diskografie überhaupt. 2011 bzw. 2016 erfuhren diese Aufnahmen aus den frühen 1970ern ein optimales Remastering.
